Thanks For The Limo

He comes up to me every single week with his wife and three children and says the same thing, “Pastor, thanks for bringing the limo to South Central and picking us up for church.”

A limo to him is an old church bus that has been pulling up in front of his little place in the projects for years. Many times, we have to pray that it even makes it there but, to this man, an old bus taking his family to church is a limo.

THERE ARE FORGOTTEN PEOPLE IN OUR CITIES WHO LONG TO FEEL A PART OF THE CHURCH.

Many people have said we can invest $8000 a week better than running buses. Buy TV time and market the church to people in order to bring in more tithers. They say we are losing money by running the buses (Or limo) to these places.

There is a difference between having a good church growth plan and getting the attention of God. A church plan can be calculated, focused on demographics and research, and built on creating the perfect society for believers. Getting the attention of God is often found in reaching the person nobody wants. But in the process, God takes note.

I have lost many people in my church who could give hundreds of thousands of dollars because of the bus people invading the church by the hundreds. I have also (To my shock) gained millionaires who come because of the buses.

GOD WILL FIGHT FOR A CHURCH THAT WILL ALWAYS FIGHT FOR PEOPLE THAT MANY WILL NOT WANT IN THEIR CONGREGATION.

The limo will continue to pull up, that family will have a church home, and God will be glorified in the process. The church that embraces the forgotten will be remembered by God.
