How To Respond To Haters

There is no doubt that our walk with God is tested by attacks against our character. The nature of man is to respond, fight back, and try to prove your point. The fact of the matter is simple, Jesus was on the cross and in all points tested yet He never responded. Jesus is our model and restraint to the most extreme degree is what He demonstrated. But man, can I tell you it’s hard!

WHEN YOU DO NOT FIGHT BACK WHEN YOU ARE ATTACKED, IT IS THE ULTIMATE SIGN YOU’VE MATURED AS A BELIEVER.

It’s fun for people doing the attacking because they have an open forum in this day of age. They can say what they want, make up what they want, misrepresent your intentions, and a spiritual, growing person has to trust all the way to the core that God is in control. The attackers usually attack someone mature because they know that the mature believer will never try to retaliate. While Jesus was on the cross, He simply did not defend himself and expects us to ignore attacks and just keep growing on the inside. The real battle is not in anything or anyone who is trying to destroy you; the real battle is obedience unto God.

God is not concerned with how strong you can fight, He’s concerned with how much you believe He’s going to take care of you. God will let you fight but at your own peril. The moment you take on every critic, every person that doesn’t like you, suddenly you live life on the defensive instead of the offensive. There will come a time in your life when you will face some attack that isn’t fair, but fighting in this war is the wrong one and it will lead you nowhere but mixed up with confused people who have you right where they want you. IN A MEANINGLESS BATTLE.
