Fears As Big As Skyscrapers

I can still remember pulling up to downtown Los Angeles in my little red Nissan Sentra at 20 years of age. Inheriting a church of 30 members. Driving past the terrifying sight of the skyscrapers of this city to get to my church was so intimidating. Panic, fear, anxiety, and so much doubt filled my soul.

The downtown lights of this city looked like giants staring me down saying, “We will eat you alive.” The beginning of what Steven Furtick calls “audacious faith” can be scarier than any haunted house. We talk about finishing a dream strong but the start can be incredibly vicious.

THE ENEMY HATES IT WHEN WE TAKE A GIANT LEAP OF FAITH BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT’S WHERE MIRACLES BEGIN.

He knows that a seed of faith is so dangerous because he’s been destroyed time after time by the finished product thereof. Fast forward seventeen years later and I now look at those skyscrapers as my best friend. Why?

Because you cannot fear what you have chosen to love!

Decide you are going to love what you fear and in time, the sights and sounds of your surroundings will start to change. Those tall buildings of downtown used to instill fear in me. Now, they are the very buildings I’ve slept under while living homeless amongst the people of Skid Row. You must not run from your cause. Stay in your calling long enough to see what you’ve feared begin to turn into what you now love.

Have you ever started something new and been scared out of your mind?
